If the Nickerson's were asked ten years ago if they would start a business, the answer would have been a resounding "no."

 

In their five years of running Taxi Terry's, they have learned numerous lessons, but Terry Nickerson says that his goal is to always provide quality service.

 

"I just believe in providing a service," Nickerson said. "I know that we provide a better service anybody else."

 

Beyond the demands of serving Columbia, the Nickersons have seven children. Only Rashad, 26, is formally involved with the family business, but the others love spending time with the drivers and staff.

 

"Our five-year-old likes to tell people they're fired," Angie Nickerson said. "That's all he really does." 

 

As the business grows, the Nickersons continue to count their faith as the central element to their success. 

 

"We could not have achieved what we have achieved without [God's] help," Terry said.
